diary of a crafty momma

confessions of an impatient crafting momma, prone to procrastination & downright laziness.

when it rains, it pours…

i’m starting to think that my appliances are conspiring against me!

2 weeks ago it was the washer, before that it was the dishwasher not “dropping” the detergent (never did figure that one out, somehow it seemed to fix itself), we still can’t figure out what is going on with the ice maker, & the latest problem was with the kitchen sink/garbage disposal. what i had thought was just a clog in the pipes turned out to be a leak, caused by a crack in the disposal unit…and as it turns out, when there’s a problem with the disposal that means the dishwasher doesn’t work correctly either. so, we spent the weekend without a working dishwasher and since i‘m not fond of (hate with a burning passion) hand washing of any kind, that meant the sink was full of dishes as well. i did get tired of looking at all the dirty dishes & eventually washed some (not all, just enough to not be completely disgusted!).

i am happy to say that we did replace the broken unit with a shiny new, bigger disposal…installed yesterday by luke with a little help from stephen. no repair guy called since that is one repair that we knew we could do ourselves…we replaced one in our rental house a few years ago. and so, i have a working dishwasher again, i’m able to safely throw food scraps down the drain, & bonus of the whole ordeal is that i organized/cleaned out all the stuff that was under the sink!

now i can happily go back to crafting, sewing, re-decorating, & all other creative endeavors that i enjoy far more than cleaning! and, hopefully, trying not to think about what the next thing to break will be 😉
