book challenge complete…what next?

on June 7, 2013

so, i’m once again hijacking my son’s computer while he’s out with his friends.

and once again, this will be short…no long-winded ramblings since there’s really no telling when he’ll be coming back & given the amount of time he normally spends on his computer, i know he’ll want me far away from it when he does return.

so, with that being said, i’m here to say that i finished my self-imposed “6 books in 6 weeks challenge”. and, happily, did it in less than 6 weeks, by a few days…not quite in 5 weeks, but 2 or 3 days under 6 weeks. so, i’m happy!

i’m finding out what kinds of books that i like to read and the kind of books that i’m not nearly as fond of…like chick-lit…i don’t like chick-lit…not even a little. but that’s just me.

and now that i have that challenge complete, i’m starting on my next one…this one being much more craft/hobby related. i am calling this my “summer of sewing” and plan on making all kinds of things for myself…yes, i am selfishly only sewing for myself this summer. jordan isn’t as fond of the dresses & skirts i used to make for her & quite frankly, i need more clothes & more practice making things that require more than just a straight seam. so i’m off to add to my summer wardrobe, having finally found some super easy, super cute (in my opinion) top patterns & a tried & true skirt pattern.

and because i like to add pictures & because i’m pretty proud of completing my challenge, these are the books i read:

the only book i didn’t really like was “girls in white dresses”, i finished it, but there were many times when i doubted that i would. i love all jen lancaster’s books & really enjoyed finding out more about senator rubio, and the other 3 books have become some of my absolute favorites.

naturally, i still have many more books to get to…”white girl problems”, “the sandcastle girls”, “the kite runner”,  & “memoirs of a geisha”…just to name a few. it’s gonna be a busy summer!
